Resort History
We are honored to be the stewards of this land originally awarded to Kah Skip O Gah Bow of the Chippewa (Ojibwe) tribe by the land Act of 1889. In 1927, his descendants sold the land to Thomas and Emogene Seevers, founding Seever’s Resort. In 1936, Alfred and Pauline Richter renamed it Lincolnwood Resort. Shell and Tillie Moore gave us our name in 1941. Since then, Moore’s Lodge has been owned by Walt and Gloria Reed (1964), jointly by Jim and Barb Woods and Dale and Shirley Canfield (1973) and most recently (1984) became one of the first “resortominiums” in Minnesota, presently with 16 shareholders who welcome you to enjoy our special place.

Meet Our Managers
We are Brad and Danielle Fruechte. Brad was raised in Swanville, Minnesota, a small town near Little Falls, while Danielle was born and raised in Colorado. Brad's upbringing on a farm fostered a love for the outdoors, including activities such as hunting, fishing, and four-wheeling—he is always enthusiastic about spending time outside, making memories with the kids, and always teaching someone a new skill. Similarly, Danielle developed an appreciation for outdoor pursuits, including hunting, fishing, and camping, from an early age. In short, our paths in life eventually crossed and brought us together. We are proud parents to two children: Jacob, who is 16 and will soon turn 17, and Jaedyn who is newly married, and welcomed our first grandchild, Oliver Anthony, in July of 2025. He is truly a delightful addition and a cherished blessing.
Together, we have experienced numerous adventures. Our relocation to Walker in August 2019 has proven to be one of our most rewarding decisions. In 2021, we established a part-time business providing lawn care, snow removal, and fish house rentals. Most recently, in 2025, we expanded our entrepreneurial efforts by launching a new venture that offers pontoon rentals. Once we received the opportunity to be the next Rental Manager’s at Moore’s Lodge, we bought all 3 boats from the Nelson’s to ensure we could keep all our guests happy, less change, and have more options in the coming years! We are genuinely eager to share these experiences and assist you in creating memorable moments at Moore’s Lodge in the years ahead.
