Resort History

We are honored to be the stewards of this land originally awarded to Kah Skip O Gah Bow of the Chippewa (Ojibwe) tribe by the land Act of 1889. In 1927, his descendants sold the land to Thomas and Emogene Seevers, founding Seever’s Resort. In 1936, Alfred and Pauline Richter renamed it Lincolnwood Resort. Shell and Tillie Moore gave us our name in 1941. Since then, Moore’s Lodge has been owned by Walt and Gloria Reed (1964), jointly by Jim and Barb Woods and Dale and Shirley Canfield (1973) and most recently (1984) became one of the first “resortominiums” in Minnesota, presently with 16 shareholders who welcome you to enjoy our special place.

Meet Our Managers

We are Craig and Angie Nelson from Hackensack, MN.  We've been together for 28 years and have four daughters.  Our three oldest daughters are grown and live on their own, and our youngest daughter Bentlee will be 12 this summer and is excited to help us out at the resort.

We managed a large family resort in Hackensack, MN for seven years.  Meeting new people and forming friendships with guests is why we love what we do!  We take great pride in our work and treat the resort as if it were our own.  Most importantly we do our best to make sure all our guests are satisfied, enjoy their stay and leave happy and looking forward to their next visit!

We're excited to be a part of Moore's Lodge and are very much looking forward to meeting all of you.
